BlackWatch Energy Services

The business now known as Calmena has been operated by BlackWatch Energy Services Trust since its inception in 2006. In December 2008, the Trust completed a rearrangement and became BlackWatch Energy Services Corp.

Reenergized and refocused

Until September 2009, the Company was focused on providing contract drilling, wireline services, frac fluids management and equipment rentals in the Western Canadian sedimentary basin.

In June 2009, BlackWatch announced a recapitalization of the company and a new management team was put in place. Hank Swartout was named Chairman of the Board and John King became President and CEO.

International expansion

In 2009 new management began executing on a strategy of expansion in international markets. In September 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of six drilling rigs now operating in Mexico.

In January 2010, the Company acquired PanAm Drilling Services LTD., a private directional drilling services company operating in the United States and Mexico.

In May 2010, the Company completed the acquisition, in Libya, of two drilling rigs, as well as their related equipment, associated contracts, and operating infrastructure.

Acquiring new technology

In April 2010, the Company acquired a privately held drilling technology developer and manufacturer. The newly acquired measurement technology enhances directional services applications and is an excellent complement to the operations of PanAm Drilling Services LTD.

Calmena Energy Services

In June, 2010 BlackWatch Energy Services Corp. changed its name to Calmena Energy Services. Calmena is focused on providing a comprehensive package of well construction services in Canada and international markets.

The Calmena trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol CEZ.
